To start your business you must know these four things.

You must know these four things to start your business because they are the foundations of your business. Everything you do in your business is built from these four things.

  1. Customers

The first thing you must know to start your business is your customers. These are your potential customers. This is important because we need to understand our customers. In order to help them, we must understand what their problems are and what they need help solving. So, we need to understand where they go to complain, where they go to hang out, who they listen to (are there any influencers that they follow), what they say and why they complain. We are in the business of helping our customers, so, in order to create happy loyal customers, we must understand what our customer’s problems are, to begin with.

2. Offer

The second thing you must know to start your business is your offer. Now when crafting our offer we need to listen to our potential customer’s feedback. This is important because we need to create our offer to fit our potential customer’s problems exactly as they’ve described. So, we need to go to where our customers complain and listen to what they say. We need to join in the conversation and use their feedback to continuously improve our offer. This step involves a lot of talking to our potential customers with the intention to really understand how we can improve our offer to solve their problems.

3. Value

The third thing you must know to start your business is how you will add value to your customer. This is where we create value. We need to prove that we can add value. To do this we need to solve part of their problem for free. We don’t charge our potential customers anything because we want to show that we really understand their problem and we want to build trust with our potential customer before anything else. We also want to take this time to observe how they interact with us, what they think about our offer, what they say and then improve our offer to get better at solving their problems.

4. Communication

And the fourth thing you must know to start your business is how you intend to communicate with your customers. Open consistent communication is essential for building relationships with our potential customers. So, keep communicating. Make yourself available to help your customer and make it easy for them to reach out to you by continuing to establish a giving relationship. Remember, the more we help our customers solve little problems in their daily lives, the more likely they are to buy from us and become repeat customers in the future.
